Volunteers are a vital part of completing The Caring Link’s mission.
If you are passionate about making a difference in the lives of local children, The Caring Link may be the place for you.
We are a 100% volunteer-based organization, and as such, we have plenty of opportunities available for you to help us in our mission of supporting our local Madison County children.

Below are some examples of regular and as-needed volunteer opportunities here at The Caring Link.

- Weekly Care Closet Team positions during the school year
- Weekly help on Wednesday mornings during the school year at our headquarters and distribution center
- Seamstresses for minor alterations during our Pop-Up Homecoming & Prom Shop season
- Care Closet installations as new partner schools are added
- Annual support for our New Beginnings school-readiness program, especially hairstylists/barbers and Spanish translators
- Numerous fundraising events throughout the year
Other Ways to Help
Don’t have time to volunteer? There are plenty of other ways to help Caring Link Kids!
- Have your business, church, or youth organization hold a drive for snack items, toiletries, coats, shoes, clothes, or costumes
- Nominate The Caring Link for any grants or awards your organization may offer
- Donate used formalwear and costumes
- Donate or sew small pouches for feminine kits
- Knit or crochet winter hats
- Enroll in Kroger’s Community Rewards program and link your Shopper’s Card with The Caring Link so we receive funds every time you shop – at no additional cost to you
- Purchase The Caring Link-branded gear during our annual fundraising sale (and wear it with pride)
- Become a Care Closet Sponsor, New Beginnings Sponsor, or a GEM in our Vault
- Spread the word about our good work
