Care Closets
Our primary work is to establish and maintain Care Closets on local public school campuses.
These Care Closets provide teachers and staff with immediate access to free items their students need, including brand new:
- Clothing
- Undergarments
- Coats & Jackets
- Shoes
- Toiletries
- School Supplies
- Comfort Items
We want to ensure that each child’s basic needs are met so that they have the confidence and self-assurance to reach their full potential in the classroom and beyond.
When the things you need are right down the hallway, asking for help feels a whole lot easier.

Currently, we have established Care Closets inside the following 28 partner schools that support over 17,000 students every single school day across the Huntsville City and Madison County school systems:

Inside Every Care Closet
Inside every Care Closet, you’ll find so much more than supplies—you’ll find dignity, confidence, and support for students who need it most.
From clothing and shoes to hygiene products, school supplies, and comfort items, every shelf is thoughtfully stocked to meet real needs in real time—right on campus, where students already are.
Because when students have what they need, they can focus on what matters most: learning, growing, and being kids.
Care Closet Teams
Every week, our incredible team of volunteers works together to keep all 28 Care Closets stocked, organized, and ready so 17,000 students have what they need, when and where they need it.
Counter
Counters conduct regular inventory counts, track supplies, and help identify what items their Care Closet needs to stay stocked and ready for students.
Puller
Pullers work out of either our headquarters or Huntsville Resource Center and gather requested items based on each school’s inventory needs as identified by the Counters.
Courier
Couriers transport supplies from our headquarters or Huntsville Resource Center to their partner schools, ensuring each Care Closet receives the specific items it needs.
Restocker
Restockers replenish and organize shelves, racks, and storage areas with new supplies, keeping items accessible, orderly, and ready for students.
