New Beginnings
Every child deserves to walk into a new school year feeling prepared, confident, and ready to learn. But for families facing financial hardship, the cost of clothing, shoes, school supplies, hygiene products, and other essentials can make that difficult.
New Beginnings was created to help remove those barriers and give local students the fresh start they deserve.
But it’s about so much more than the items we provide.
- A new pair of shoes can mean walking into class without worrying about what others might notice.
- A backpack filled with supplies can mean being ready to participate alongside classmates.
- A haircut or hygiene products can help a child feel confident.
Every resource reminds local children that they matter, that their community cares, and that they deserve the opportunity to learn, participate, and thrive.

Provided Resources
Children participating in New Beginnings receive brand new essential items and services, including:
- Clothing
- Undergarments
- Shoes
- Hygiene products tailored to their specific needs
- School supplies for their school and grade
- Haircuts
- Vision, hearing, & wellness screenings
- Access to corrective eyewear and dental care
- A box of nonperishable meal items for their families
- The opportunity to connect with other local nonprofits and community organizations that can provide additional resources and support
Year-Round Support Beyond The Essentials
While the program begins with a back-to-school resource distribution, our support doesn’t end when the school year starts.
We continue to assess students’ needs throughout the year and provide additional resources as they grow and their needs change.
By connecting students with the essentials they need—and with other Caring Link programs that support their education and well-being, like Book Fairy and Care to Join—we’re helping create brighter beginnings and removing obstacles that can stand between a child and their full potential.
